Drum Lampshade Workshop - Wednesday 14th October at 1.30pm

Come along and join Sally in our fun and informal workshop where you will make a drum style lampshade, suitable for a lamp base or to hang from the ceiling.

For the first time we are offering various size options in one workshop.  Please choose one only.

CHOICE 30cm  Make a 30cm shade, this is the simplest size for a beginner to make as its an easy to handle size, but gives you plenty of practice at all stages for you to have confidence to make further shades.  A 30cm shade is suitable for a table lamp or bedroom ceiling

CHOICE 40cm Feeling a little bolder? Try your hand at a 40cm shade, this size is a little more difficult to handle and roll and takes more effort to tuck in.  A 40cm shade is suitable for a larger table lamp or ceiling shade for large room

CHOICE 20cm  This option offers you the chance to make a pair of 20cm lampshades suitable for bedside lamps. On the day we will prepare 2 panels so they are an exact match and during the workshop you will complete one shade and take the other home to finish in your own time.  Smaller shades are naturally more fiddly and need good hand dexterity when tucking in the rolled edge.

Our workshops are small and friendly and take place in the light and bright Bawdeswell Village Hall, which has great facilities, including free parking and wifi.

The workshop takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete and your shade will be finished and ready to take home on the day, unless you have chosen to make a pair of 20cm shades, when you will complete one in class. There is a refreshments break half way through.

Bring along your own fabric, or you can choose for us to supply fabric for you at an extra cost, this is subject to availability and requires notice.  Please choose your preferred option from the drop down box .

If you will be bringing your own fabric, we will send you more information with your workshop booking.

There will be extra kits to purchase on the day, if you are bitten by the bug and also a range of glass lamp bases to show off your new shade.
